Dr. Wang Teng, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Vascular and Endovascular surgeon in practice with South Orange County Surgical Medical Group since 2006. He treats the broad spectrum of vascular diseases, ranging from disorders of arteries (occlusions, aneurysms) and veins to dialysis access and venous thrombosis management.
Dr. Teng was raised in Southern California and completed his undergraduate degree, medical school and general surgery residency (15 years in all) at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Following this, he completed a fellowship in open surgical vascular and catheter-based endovascular surgery at the University of Utah Medical Center.
Although he finds the breadth of vascular diseases exciting, he has a particular interest in the surgical management of aortic aneurysms. Dr. Teng has brought minimally invasive abdominal aortic aneurysm stent graft (EVAR) technology to South Orange County, developing the aortic intervention program at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in 2006. Since then, he has treated hundreds of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) with this minimally invasive procedure. In 2013, he was privileged to be the first surgeon in Southern California to utilize the newly FDA approved stent graft technology, the COOK Zenith® fenestrated device, to treat complex aortic aneurysms. An article about him and his patient was recently featured in the Orange County Register.
Dr. Teng holds hospital privileges at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, Mission Regional Medical Center and San Clemente Hospital, where he is the Director of Vascular Surgery. He serves on the board of directors for the Surgical Center at Saddleback. Dr. Teng was awarded the Physician Communication award and has twice been recognized as Saddleback Memorial Physician of the Quarter in 2011 and 2013; he is a recent graduate of the prestigious Saddleback Physician Leadership Academy 2013. Recently, he was chosen by the Orange County Medical Association as a 2014 Physician of Excellence for his contributions to Vascular surgery in Orange County. Dr. Teng prides himself on his communication skills, leadership and innovation in the name of providing the best possible care for his patients.
A self-proclaimed epicurean enthusiast and food science authority, Dr. Teng‘s time away from the operating room is often spent in the chaos of his kitchen, cooking for his family. They also enjoy skiing in June Lake, beach camping in their Airstream trailer and watching backyard movies in their home in San Juan Capistrano.
Dr. Teng, you are out of this world! Thanks for being supportive and keeping me informed. You are one of the main reasons we chose Saddleback Memorial Medical Center over other local hospitals (specifically Hoag).

Dr. Teng, thank you for your compassion and ability to make the many times in surgery positive ones for us. I know that as long as you were doing the surgery, my husband was in the best of hands. You always brought out the best in him and I thank you!
